Ikhwezi In-Service Training Institute which is part of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education sent tenders out to prospective professional conference organizers and we were delighted when the tender was awarded to Event Solutions.
With foreign delegates mostly from Denmark, USA and England and many local delegates and officials from the KZN Department of Education including the KZN Minister of Education, Mrs Ina Cronje among the 700 people in attendance, the event was billed as one of the first international conferences the Department had hosted.
The theme of the conference was CPTD – CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL TEACHER DEVELOPMENT. Speakers from around the country joined international guest speakers and offered their professional insight on the many topics around education and development.
Although the KZN Department of Education booked the venue direct, Event Solutions was responsible for the entire co-ordination and management of the event which comprised of 2 days full conference and a gala banquet after the first day.
Event Solutions, along with the planning committee met at regular intervals at Ikhwezi offices in Durban and status reports were sent to the client after these meetings. Event Solutions were responsible for all the activities of the conference including registration, full set up/decor of the plenary hall and banquet venue, technical team, branding, liaison with the client and venue on issues regarding security, meals, entertainment, accreditation, VIP/ministerial venue and protocol, etc.
